The Sr. Development Evaluation Analyst is responsible for designing reports and analytic solutions, gathering reporting requirements and documenting business processes as needed. The Sr. Analyst will develop data visualizations for ad-hoc data requests; develop reports and advanced SQL queries while making sure data results meets requirements. The Sr. Analyst will work closely with the Associate Director of Development Evaluation and the Director of Development Operations in continuously developing and advancing an Evaluation program for the department as well as incorporating data “story-telling” for the organization. The Analyst will also work independently to collect analysis and reporting requirements, develop project schedules and deliver Evaluation products to staff. The Sr. Analyst will also engage with department Directors as well as other organizational teams and stakeholders in developing analytic solutions. The Sr. Analyst will perform data mining, trend/predictive analysis and statistical analysis leading to decisions about support capabilities. The Sr. Development Evaluation Analyst reports to the Associate Director of Development Evaluation.  
 
This is a non-supervisory position. 
 
The Sr. Development Evaluation Analyst is expected to work a full-time (37.5 hours/week) schedule, and may work hybrid or remote from the following locations: San Francisco, CA  
 

What You'll Do

Reporting & Evaluation (70%)
  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, scorecards, KPIs, and reports using Tableau, SSRS, SQL Report Builder, and other visualization tools to support departmental and organizational metrics.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather business requirements, translate them into reporting and analytics logic, and interpret results to clearly communicate insights and performance drivers to leadership.
  • Conduct advanced analysis (including statistical analysis and predictive modeling) to connect operational activities to outcomes and support continuous improvement and decision-making. 
Data Management (30%)
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across all reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Build and maintain complex, reusable datasets using Transact-SQL in collaboration with the Development Operations Data team.
  • Collaborate closely with Database Administration and IT to manage data mapping, testing, access, refresh processes, and the evolution of data solutions and technologies.

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum 4 years of extensive experience in a related business, data or reporting analyst role.
  • Solid understanding and demonstrated knowledge of data visualization tools preferably Tableau.
  • Strong expertise in SQL (advanced querying, stored procedures, multi-database queries) with solid knowledge of relational database design, MS SQL Server, and data warehouse concepts.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and skilled in analyzing and synthesizing data from multiple data sources.
  • Excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research, interpret, and validate data across systems.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams, build strong working relationships, and support inter-programmatic reporting needs.
  • Highly organized, adaptable self-starter with strong documentation and time-management skills, able to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a dynamic environment.

Salaries at Earthjustice are determined by working location and are commensurate with the experience required.
 
The annual salary range for this role in San Francisco, CA is $123,800 - $137,500.
